Safe Needle Technology, which forms part of the medical consumables division, is an important new advance in the medical devices field and IMD has acquired patents for five product lines, ClipOn, SafeLine, AutoInjecta, ReverSyringe and Retralok:

ClipOn is a retractable needle complete with its own safety housing which is attached using a standard Luer connection to all general purpose syringes.
AutoInjecta is a pre-filled or fillable device for use by individuals e.g. diabetics and medical professionals. It is a single-use, throwaway syringe with retractable needle and incapacity for re-use.
Safeline is a “butterfly” cannula for intravenous administration of fluids with a concentric tube that enables retraction and occlusion of the needle.
ReverSyringe is a syringe which operates by withdrawal of the plunger, rather than the reverse. Besides the safety feature of retractable needle without the requirement to push the plunger fully to the base of the housing, it allows easy reckoning of the amount of drug administered.
RetraLok is a retractable syringe with the added features that retraction is independent of plunger position, and separate drawing and injecting needles can be used.
