The Group's Consumables Division is represented by Response Medical and focuses on two discrete areas:

• Cardiac-related consumables and accessories
• Needles

The Group has achieved significant success with cardiac-related consumables and accessories over the past four years.

Response Medical branded Blood Pressure Cuffs and own-labeled ECG Paper form the cornerstone of this portfolio and the Company collaborates with blue chip companies such as Tyco and Kimberly-Clark for distribution of their Sp02 sensors and Defib Pads. French manufacturer, Integral Process, supplies cables and leadwires.

Swiss-based Ypsomed is the world's largest independent developer and manufacturer of injection pens for pharmaceutic and biotech companies. Via Response Medical, IMD has the exclusive distribution rights in the UK for Penfine® Universal Click diabetic pen needles.

Having obtained a CE marking certificate in December 2006 IMD’s patented Surety needle was launched at the Dusseldorf Medica exhibition in November 2007. The Surety retractable needle is the first product to be launched under the “Surety” brand, previously referred to as “Clip-On”. In January 2008, IMD won an endorsement to sell its Surety needle across the National Health Service. IMD intends to launch other complementary safety intravenous injection and phlebotomy devices under this brand over the next 18 months.

An experienced and dedicated management structure oversees this division, with customer care a high priority. It is anticipated that this will be the largest-growing division in the business over the next two years.
